My practice explores the material-semiotic entanglements of objects, bodies, and spaces, inviting reflection on how we experience and inhabit built environments. Through installations, drawings, and video works, I create situations that prompt a slow reckoning with the affective dimensions of space—whether it be awkwardness, dread, or estrangement.
Yiying Wang is an interdisciplinary artist born in Yunnan, China. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 2023 and is currently pursuing her MFA at Carnegie Mellon University. She was a participant in the 2024 Interdisciplinary Art and Theory Program in Manhattan, NY. She attended Yale Norfolk School of Art in 2022 and participated in the Art Dialog 2022 symposium in Gallery Klenová, Czech Republic.
